Come rock out with us Saturday night (ok - late afternoon - we’re a kid friendly joint) with Myopic Ramjet (yeah - that’s the name of the band) and check out what the house looks like this week.
See you out back!
Surely you’ve heard the earth-shaking news by now. Brian, the monster skins basher for Myopic Ramjet for well over a decade, is leaving town for a girl. How’s that for insulting? Actually, more power to him. So now we have some shows lined up for the summer and are in search for a drummer who’ll show up regularly. We gig every 4 to 6 weeks and rehearse once a week.
We’ve been rehearsing at Brian’s house waaaaayyyy uptown in Columbia Heights but are now in search of rehearsal space as well. Preferably on the Virginia side of the river. Any ideas on either front will be appreciated.
Check out the site for pics, set lists, etc., and let me know if you can think of anything before I descend to the level of posting a Craig’s list ad.
The new year has dawned and we at Myopic Ramjet are working hard, honing our chops, singing in tune, keeping time with monster skins basher Brian. We’ll be out and around this spring, playing in your neighborhood, delivering the Rock ‘n’ Roll you so desperately need.
Need a rockin’ band at your party? We’re just the guys. Drop us a line!
Questions? Comments? Painful itch in a place you can’t discuss at work?
We want to know. Drop us a line!
The Holidays are fast approaching and we at Myopic Ramjet wish you all the joys that the Season brings.
In news, it seems that Keith, guitar player extraordinaire, has better things to do with his time (like studying Korean for the State Department), so we’re trolling for another axe-man - not a lead guitar, not a rhythm guitar, but another guitar.
All you guitar players out there, drop us a line.
Yes, we played a prom last night.
OK, not the kind of “high school” prom you’re thinking of, but a private party with a “prom” theme. Lots of fun people, had a great time. Seems like a cool idea for a regular function (which it is).
You can see pictures in our gallery.
Had a blast playing our last show, a private (50th birthday) party. The people were fun, everyone seemed to have a good time, all the way from the little kids to the over 50 kids. Very appreciative crowd, which makes our job all that much easier and more fun. (Pictures on our gallery!)
Bob Braddock filled in nicely on the bass (thanks Bob!), and now Bob’s agreed to come on full-time, bringing his signature “big bottom” along with him. So we now have a full lineup and it’s time to start really pushing the shows. So if you’re looking for a fun cover band that’ll play music you can dance to, drop us a line!
-= Chris and Bob jammin in the tent last weekend =-
guitar and keys player, Keith Krulak, has joined the band. Keith will be fleshing out our sound with more sonic noise. But we’ll still ISO a bass player, so all of you bottom-enders out there looking for a chance to have some fun, drop us a line. Keith’s bio will be up soon (no pressure, Keith).
Yep, it’s true. Rollo, our mondo bass player, has chucked corporate life, shed the evil corporation, stuck it to the man, and moved out of town. Ladies and Gentlemen, the mighty Myopic Ramjet is bass-less. While we mourn Rollo’s passing - to Jersey no less , how’s that for insulting - we’re hitching ourselves up by our guitar strings and launching a fabulous, nationwide… er, metro area wide, search. If you can hold down the bottom end and add groove where it should be (which is everywhere!) drop us a line at NeedBass@MyopicRamjet.com
You can check out our setlist on the Set List page - duh.
Rock on. And remember, there’s no Ramjet like a Myopic Ramjet… whatever the hell that means.
